Dance studio flooring, Portable dance floors, Stage floors, Ballet dance floor

Our products include portable, stage and studio marley floors for touring groups and professional studios and modular portable tiles. Greatmats offers both professional and home dance floor solutions for both professional studios and those in need of portable dance floors. We offer a variety of approximately 80 options and accessories for dance styles including, tap, jazz, ballet, modern dance and more.

We offer event and portable dance floors, a great choice for hotels, banquet centers and touring groups. Dance subfloors - portable and permanent - and stage and theatrical floors for schools, performance venues and practice spaces are also available.

How to Choose the Right Dance Floor
  1. Pinpoint over what type of surface the floorwill be installed.
  2. Establish whether the dance floor will be permanent or need to be portable.
  3. Be sure to keep in mind the style of dance it will be used for.
  4. Identify what type of footwear will be used on the floor.
  5. Determine whether you'll be installing the dance floor yourself or hiring a professional.

  6. Tap and Hard Shoe Dance Floor
For tap and other hard shoe dancing, we recommend choosing our black Marley floors. Tap shoes tend to scuff vinyl floor surfaces, leaving permanent black marks. Black Marley dance flooring is guaranteed to help hide these marks. The vinyl flooring comes in rolls and installs easily with a tape down method.

For temporary or portable tap floor installations, we offer modular snap together tiles with a vinyl surface. The raised plastic base on this modular dance flooring offers excellent sound enhancement ideal for tap-style dancing. Plus, the modular design of the floors allows you to easily change the size and shape of your flooring without damaging the floor for future performances. The tiles snap together over any hard-flat surface and only pull apart when you want them to.

    Marley Dance Flooring
Frequently found in professional studios is Marley, a sheet vinyl product available in black, white and gray. Vinyl flooring can be purchased either in specifically sized pre-cut lengths or in full length rolls at a discounted price. Cut lengths are easier to install, compared to full size rolls, which can weigh more than 270 lbs.

Most customers install Marley dance floors in their studios simply using a tape down method of installation. Use Rosco single-sided vinyl tape on top of Rosco dance flooring to cover the seams. Next apply double-sided tape around the perimeter to adhere the vinyl to the sub-floor.

To keep the Marley vinyl dance flooring clean, use Rosco brand floor cleaner, available in standard and heavy duty strength. To keep the flooring lasting long and in top condition, we recommend cleaning vinyl flooring at least twice a week.

Marley Dance flooring is one of the most common multi-dance style floor surfaces. It is great for hard or soft shoes, offers excellent slip resistance and lasts for years. This dance surface is popular for ballet, hip hop, ballroom and barefoot dancing along with tap modern, Flamenco, Irish, jazz, lyrical and drill team dance styles.

For portable marley floor installations, we also offer modular tile subfloor solutions to help ease impact and stresses your body resulting from dancing on hard, unforgiving surfaces.

    Soft Shoe Dance Floors
Soft shoe dance flooring options include a reversible Marley vinyl material in black and white, or black and grey combinations. This reversible marley floor works excellent as a portable material, as it can be easily rolled up and transported.

For dancing that requires a soft shoe, like ballet and modern, many customers choose a grey Marley floor, popular because of its soft and flexible feel.

    Touring Marley Floors
If you're in need of an affordable, portable dance floor for a touring group, consider the Adagio Tour. This flooring material weighs only 1.6 lbs. per ft., and is great for temporary theatrical installations. The Adagio Tour is designed to lay flat quickly, and is strong enough to withstand all forms of dance.

The Adagio Tour is equipped with a matte, non-reflective surface that is flexible enough to withstand years of rolling and re-rolling. However, this marley flooring is meant only for temporary usage, as this product lacks the thickness required for a heavy use tap floor.

    Event Portable Floors
If you need a great looking, easy to install dance floor for a special event, Greatmats recommends the snap together floor tiles. Portable, and easy to assemble, this option can handle any type of dance and provide a finished hardwood appearance. Perfect for weddings, DJ's or other events and entertainment companies, the snap together dance tiles can be used repeatedly for years.

Choose from several wood-grain looks or stone looks. The dance tiles are made of a commercial grade plastic with a vinyl top. The loop and tab locking system is durable and designed to hook your floor together tightly and easily disassembles when no longer needed. This connection type installation lasts much longer than most portable floors currently on the market.

    Dance Floor Subflooring
Not only does Greatmats offers some of the best dance flooring on the market - at the lowest prices - we can also help with providing you the proper subsurface on which to place your dance flooring. Greatmats has various forms of dance subflooring for professional studios and home installations.

At the top end are our sprung dance subfloors - available in full panels and customizable DIY kits.

We also offer a two-part cushioned subfloor system for price conscious dance studio owners. This subfloor is slightly softer than spring floors.

For those installing a practice floor at home, we can help you pick the right subfloor to go over any surface, including concrete, tile or hardwood floors. Call and speak to one of our dance flooring experts to find the right solution for you.
