Interlocking foam mat, Wood foam floor tiles, Kids foam flooring

Greatmats is a leading provider of options and foam floor tiles and other foam flooring solutions. Uses for foam mats are virtually endless and so are their designs, which is why Greatmats offers more than 80 different foam flooring and tiles with unique features to accommodate their large variety of uses.

As one of the softest of foam flooring solutions, foam floor tiles are popular for athletic and kids' spaces as well as serving as anti-fatigue mats for trade show booths, basements and even horse stalls and trailers. Modular foam mats have even made a splash in the flooring world as a high-end pool decking solution.

All our foam floor tiles are made of waterproof closed cell foams. Some foam mats are vinyl-wrapped with polyurethane foam cores. This makes the flooring and mats easy to clean and disinfect and all options are suitable for indoor installations and applications. We also offer foam flooring mats with a cross-linked polyethylene foam base with either vinyl or carpet surfaces.

Greatmats offers dozens of foam mats and other foam flooring options intended for home, commercial and athletic use. These options include puzzle mats and tiles, glue-down or peel-n-stick foam tiles, roll-out foam matting, folding gym mats and foam underlayment rolls.

Two of the most enticing features of foam flooring are its lightweight nature and price. Most foam floors are very portable. Foam flooring is also an excellent thermal and sound insulator as well as impact absorber, which is what makes it such a great flooring material for combat sports. Very few of our foam floor tiles require adhesives to install. In fact, in most cases, we advise against the use of adhesives.

Athletic Foam Floor Tiles

The cushion and impact absorbing qualities of foam floor tiles and mats make them a go-to solution for many home and commercial athletic training facilities, including martial arts training halls, aerobic studios, boxing gyms, weight training facilities, yoga studios and cheerleading and gymnastics facilities.

For striking arts, such as karate, tae kwon do or boxing, there are foam floor tiles that provide stability for balance, cushion for landings and surfaces that help control how much slippage is allowed. Some or designed for bare feet while others can withstand the wear and tear of shoes and boots. These foam floor tiles are generally 7/8-1 inch thick.

For throwing arts, such as judo, Greatmats offers thicker foam floor mats and tiles, starting at 1 1/4 inch, that absorb impact and provide critical fall height protection from up to four feet. Foam puzzle mats can be as thick as 1 5/8 inch while vinyl or denim covered foam mats can be much thicker found with up to a 12-inch thickness.

For grappling arts such as wrestling or jiu jitsu, we've got mats that feature no-burn surfaces that will help prevent raspberries or friction-induced skin burns on faces, knees and elbows. This style mat has become popular in professional BJJ gyms and amateur grappling tournament circuit rings.

Aerobic studios love our interlocking foam tiles that are density optimized specifically for aerobic exercises and feature surface textures that will stand up to punishing aerobic training. Foam aerobic flooring helps reduce body fatigue and allows for longer and harder workouts, depending on your own individual fitness level.

While most foam flooring is not ideal for installation under heavy exercise equipment, Greatmats does have a couple of options made of super high density EVA foam that are designed to handle just that. These high-density tiles have become a popular home gym flooring solution as well as portable stall or horse trailer flooring.

Yoga practitioners have found several foam floor tiles in our collection that help relieve the pressure on joints and challenge balance.

Cheerleaders enjoy the impact absorption and rebound of our foam mats designed for their sport. Those features not only help with safety but performance as well. Cheerleading foam rolls often feature a carpet or vinyl surface.

Gymnasts use probably the largest variety of foam floor mats, whether for tumbling, stretching, skill training or landings. There are foam floor mats designed specifically for each of gymnastics activity you'd like to do. Foam Gymnastics Mats come in a large range of sizes, shapes and installation designs - ranging from rollout mats, to folding mats, to octagon or wedge shaped mats. Our lower density and thicker foam mats are popular for high impact landing practices.

Foam flooring is a popular option for personal exercise areas. With simple, interlocking edges, our tiles make for an easy-to-install, do-it-yourself (DIY) project. Most of our interlocking foam mats come with border strips attached which make it convenient to use any tile as a border, corner or center tile. The mats are easy to ship and/or carry, or to pack up and re-transport. They are conveniently sized and lightweight. We also offer simple, lightweight roll-out personal exercise mats that are easy to store in tight spaces.

Many gym mats are also available with connector strips that allow you to combine multiple mats to cover larger areas. Folding mats have hook and loop connector strips built into them for a convenient way to expand your workout area. Carpet topped rollout mats have hook-and-loop connector tape that can be easy rolled out over the seams for a tight fit. Vinyl-topped rollout mats can also be taped together using vinyl tape. Some of our other large foam mats feature a no-skid bottom to prevent mats from shifting and separating.

Foam martial arts flooring is a popular option for studios and home practice areas. Greatmats is one of the largest retailers in the nation of interlocking foam mats for professional martial arts dojos, dojangs and gyms and offers and extensive selection of 1x2 meter traditional tatami mats and home or commercial roll out martial arts mats as well as folding mats.

Kid's Foam Floor Tiles
Kids play rooms are one of the most popular places for foam floor tiles - especially puzzle mats. The ease of installation and pool of color possibilities are equally as enticing as the fact that foam flooring softens hard floors and provides a safer place for kids to play.

Many of the same features that make foam tiles excellent for martial arts make them fitting for kids play areas. Kids are going to run, jump and fall. They are going to wrestle and roughhouse. While these activities are all good for their overall mental and physical health, they do increase the risk for bumps, bruises and injuries. Why not protect them by making their play spaces safer?
The flooring design and installation can also provide a low-stress activity in which the kids can join in and help with. Mix and match colors and design floor patterns with multiple colors of tiles. Anybody can lock the tiles together be simply pushing or stepping on the puzzle stile interlocks. And they can be rearranged at any time without harming the tiles.

With kids play areas inevitably will be noise. Foam tile serve as a great way to keep that noise from bouncing around the room and amplifying. Foam is a great sound dampener, so installing foam tiles in your kids play rooms will not only make it a more comfortable and stimulating place to play and learn, it can also help save those in adjoining rooms from some degree of excessive noise.

Our most popular foam floor tile for kids' rooms is our Premium 5/8-inch Foam Floor Mat. It is offered in 15 brilliant colors that will add style and vibrancy to any room design at an affordable price. Parents will love how easy these foam floors are to clean. You simply sweep and use a damp mop as needed. These tiles are also waterproof and stain resistant. They are lead and latex free and provide the soft, safe environment any active child needs.

Foam Trade Show Booth Flooring
Traveling professionals have fallen in love with foam floor tiles for trade shows and other events where they need to set up sales or promotional booths in which they'll spend hours on their feet and have limited time and space to set up their booths. The convenient modular tile sizes of foam floor tiles and their lightweight natures make transportation as easy as can be. The tiles are easy to install repeatedly since no adhesives are needed.

Most importantly, they provide anti-fatigue benefits that keep stress levels down, increase productivity and prevent injuries. Again, the multiple color and pattern options allow businesses to customize their floors to fit the theme or even company colors of the booth - aiding in the branding process.

Greatmats offers 2x2 foot, easy-to-install interlocking tiles with wood grain patterns for trade show flooring. These tiles are durable, long lasting, and easy to ship via ground service from show to show. Our flooring for trade show booths feature border strips that allow each tile to serve as a center, a border, or a corner. They are designed to be installed as quickly and easily as possible while still maintaining maximum comfort. In addition, these trade show flooring tiles are waterproof and easy to clean.

Foam Flooring for Basements
The biggest draw for using foam flooring in basements is the fact that it turns that hard and cold concrete into a warm, cozy and inviting space for all to enjoy.

It's removable nature, allows you to pull it up if for some reason you are doing an activity in which you want the hard floor or don't wish to damage your foam floor tiles. This is also very helpful if your basement has moisture problems or tendencies. Should moisture become trapped beneath your foam flooring, simply pull up the tiles, allow the subfloor to dry and re-install. The foam will not absorb moisture or become damaged by it.

To accommodate furniture, we recommend using plastic coasters under the legs of heavy couches and chairs which can leave indentations in foam material. Generally, foam indentations will heal themselves in the same amount of time that they take to form. In cases where heavy objects are left on foam flooring for extended periods of time, indentations may become permanent.

Foam Floor Tiles for Horse Trailers and Stalls

Much like weight rooms, horse trailers and stalls need a resilient flooring material that can handle heavy weight. Greatmats offers super high density portable horse stall mats that are fully capable of handling the weight of large animals such as horses.

Most horse stall mats are made of rubber and are very heavy, making them difficult to transport from one space to another. But when you are trailering your horse to a show or trail ride, you still want it to be comfortable and reduce unnecessary fatigue. With foam, portable horse stall mats, that's no longer a concern. You can install them in your trailer and, when you get to your destination, pull them out of the trailer and install them again at the show barn or fairgrounds stall if desired.

Foam Pool Decking Tiles
New to Greatmats foam floor tile selection are high end foam pool decking tiles. These are some of the few foam flooring solutions that can be used indoors or out. Outdoor tiles do need to be glued down when indoor installations can be accomplished through peel-n-stick methods. These foam floors provide excellent non-slip qualities and limited fall protection - much needed in dangerous pool deck areas where children are all-too-easily tempted to run, slip and fall.

This foam pool decking surface is ideal for hotel and school pool areas as well as municipal pools and waterparks.

Foam Tile Colors
We carry interlocking foam floor mats in bright colors, muted tones and wood grain designer patterns that complement any decor.

Our tile with the most color options, the Foam Floor Mats 5/8 Premium tiles, are offered in 15 vibrant colors. We also have interlocking foam floor mats in several different wood grain and cork patterns. Many of our interlocking athletic and martial arts tiles are also reversible, with different colors on each side.

Surface Textures

Our foam tiles are also available in many different surface textures. Thatch textured foam floor tiles are most resistant to footwear. Our non-burn tatami textured tiles are best against bare skin. Leather textured tiles are meant for use under bare feet.

Vinyl wrapped or vinyl-bonded foam tiles also hold up very well to footwear. Some of these feature a smooth surface and others, a tatami surface for extra grip. This vinyl tatami surfaces, however, are not going to prevent skin burns.

Pebble top textures are intended to create a non-slip surface on super high density foam tiles.

Felt grip tops are designed to provide the proper amount of traction and comfort for dog paws.

Some tiles and roll out mats feature carpeted tops as well. Some foam anti-fatigue mats are even available with diamond surface finishes.

Size and thickness
Foam is available in a large variety of sizes and thicknesses to fit your individual needs. We carry interlocking foam tiles that range in thickness from 3/8 inch to 1-5/8 inches.

The most common foam tile sizes are 2x2 feet and 1x1 meter. Generally, our larger interlocking foam mats are designed for larger commercial installations and professional studios while our smaller 2x2 foot flooring tiles are designed to accommodate residential applications.

Mats at the 2x2 foot size can ship via ground service to your door via UPS or FedEx. 1x1 meter tiles will always ship on a pallet via freight delivery service.

Roll-out foam flooring for faster installation over large areas or for portable workout spaces. This foam flooring can be as small as a 5x10 foot roll and as large as 6 feet wide with custom lengths. A 42-foot length is common for many commercial cheer mats.

Hardness and density
Hardness and density are other areas key where we have an extensive range to ensure we meet the necessary requirements to allow for the optimal experience in specific athletic applications.

The ''hardness'' of an interlocking foam mat is measured in a degree of Shore C. This specifies how hard or soft the foam feels to the touch. We test the hardness of foam with a hardness measurement tool. Our standard 2x2 foot by 5/8 inch tiles have a hardness measurement of 30 to 35 Shore C. Our hardest tiles feature a hardness of 60 to 65 degrees Shore C. Many of our softer foam floor mats, including our line of home martial arts puzzle mats, have undergone egg drop tests from falls of up to 68 feet for impact absorption and the eggs did not break.

''Density'' is different than hardness. Density is a measurement of material mass and is a relationship of cubic meters or cubic feet in comparison to weight. For example: 130kg/m3 means 130 kilograms per cubic meter. Density specifies the amount of material to air ratio within a particular floor tile, while hardness is how hard the flooring will feel. The relationship between ''hardness'' and ''density'' is important because this can relate to the quality of the foam flooring.

Foam Floor Tile Pricing
When it comes to the pricing for foam floor tiles, remember - size matters as does versatile and construction materials.

Your lowest priced foam flooring options will not only be thinner than the higher priced options, but you probably won't have as many options for how they can be installed or used.

For under $1 per square foot you can find 5/8-inch thick foam rolls without a finished surface or single-sided, 1/2-inch-thick puzzle mats with limited color options and generally no larger than 2x2 foot tiles.

For just a little bit more, reversible, wood-grain patterned and numerous color-option interlocking foam floor tiles start to enter the picture. You also start to get extra thickness for increased cushion and additional surface textures. For less than $2 per square foot you can find puzzle mats up to 1 inch thick and tiles with tatami, leather, pebble, felt or smooth surface textures. You also start to find other hardness options and tiles up to 1x1 meter in size.

Beyond that, foam flooring enters the realm of outdoor pool decking, crash pads, stage mats and personal exercise mats.

The newest development in foam matting at Greatmats is our 10mm foam tile with a pebble top surface texture. This high-density option is a sister foam flooring option to our thicker 3/4-inch pebble top of foam matting which has been a popular floor product in home gyms for years. The 10 mm foam is great for use under exercise equipment and for smaller free weights. While the density is the same durable shore C 60, the thickness is half, resulting in a more cost effective flooring option. Available in a sleek 100 percent black color, customers love the durability and density of these new tiles. Two border strips are included with each tile.

Tatami surfaced foam floor tiles are ideal for grappling and other activities where you will be laying directly on the mat's surface as it will not burn your skin. In addition, the Tatami sport tiles are reversible, with each side offering a different color option.

Exercise rooms are a great location for our 7/8-inch Home Sport and Play foam flooring tiles. These offer great anti-fatigue benefits for plyometric and aerobic type jumping and lunging as well as a soft surface for floor exercises. We offer these foam floor tiles in three double colored options: green/brown, red/blue, or black/gray. The reversible design allows for either color to be featured.

Our 5x10 foot rollout workout mats are easy to use and easy to store. At 1.25-inches thick, this mat is a popular choice for home exercise and martial arts usage. It manufactured in the USA with a top-quality vinyl cover. These rollout mats are a cinch to clean using common household floor cleaners and a damp mop.

Thermal insulation

Foam will act as insulation like carpeting on top of concrete or wood. This is a good thing when covering a cold basement floor as the foam will feel as warm as the room temperature. For floors with in-floor heat the tiles will not inhibit the heat from migrating up into the room. The R-value of foam is minimal and can be used on top of concrete with in floor heating.

Installation of interlocking foam is quick and easy. Simply lay out the tiles and snap them together. In a wall-to-wall installation, you can easily cut the foam floor tiles to fit using a sharp utility knife. You may wish to lay a board below the foam when cutting in order to not damage the floor below. If the tiles start to fray when cutting, then it's time to change your blade.

Commitment to customers

At Greatmats, our customers are our top concern. We do our very best to provide top quality products, service and prices, which is evident by our price match guarantee and A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau.
