Economical foam mats options, Interlocking and colorful foam mat tiles
Our Foam Mats Economy 1/2 Inch product provides great value for anyone seeking to place a safe and soft foam floor mat on hard surfaces. Use gym foam mats for exercise rooms, as they are waterproof and easy to clean. It measures 12 mm in thickness, giving it just enough cushion, while remaining an economical option. Our foam mat flooring features a non-slip thatch surface.
Mat Foam Color Creativity
These large foam mats for kids are available in a few different colors to create custom designs. Choose from a gray, blue, or black foam mat. All colorings have the same pattern on the edges, meaning all of them will fit together easily.
Some customers will pick the color that best fits within the design of the current space. Others like to create fun patterns within the foam flooring tiles.
If using them in daycares, the soft foam floor mats for babies are perfect for any activity. These play mats are colorful and fun. Colors and shades potentially will vary somewhat on pieces within the same order. This is common with EVA foam matting. Consider making a checkerboard pattern to alleviate this potential issue.
However, these surface markings and indentations will not affect the performance or change the anti-fatigue cushion and traction properties.
Easy Kids Foam Floor Tiles Installation
These interlocking tiles can be placed directly on flat surfaces and cut if needed for custom foam mats installations. Simply interlock the kids foam floor tile edges together. Each measures about 2 by 2 feet and covers about 4 square feet.
Allow them to acclimate before installation. Put them in the room in which they will be installed at least 24 hours before beginning. By allowing them to adjust to the temperature and humidity in the room, the possibility of expansion or shrinking will be greatly reduced.
However, should the heat or humidity levels in the room change over time, they may expand, so we recommend allowing at least a 1/4 inch expansion gap against walls.
This model doesn't include border strips for finished edges. To achieve a straight outer edge to match a wall, try cutting and removing the puzzle edge. (We also have other models with a finished border strip. Contact us for more information.)
These foam mats are lightweight and portable. Each weighs only 1.2 pounds, so one person can lay them out. As an added bonus, easily disassemble and remove them at any time, returning to the original design or changing the overall look.
No adhesive is required during the installation process, because the soft floor tiles interlock together tightly. This tight fit ensures they will not buckle or pop out if installed correctly.
High-End Construction Mats Foam
They can be used in homes and schools. They are durable, easy to install, and will last for years. Use our soft tiles in basements, in kids playrooms, or in the garage, and they will stand up to wear and tear. Each carries a 1-year manufacturer's warranty.
We ensure they are manufactured inside allowable thickness tolerances. With the proper thickness level, we ensure they won't have weak spots that result in buckling under normal use.
Our interlocking foam floor tiles are shock absorbing. They work great for kids play areas, where children can have a softer landing should they trip and fall if running. They are a lighter weight option than rubber, making them easily portable.
They absorb shock as a dog runs across the floor tiles while participating in an agility class, delivering fatigue relief for people who stand for long periods of time while training the animals.
The closed cell construction yields a firmer surface when trying to make sudden movements, such as for aerobics or home martial arts training. If they were softer, the foot could sink in too far when pushing off, increasing the possibility of a rolled ankle.
FAQ Foam Mats Q&A
How do you cut foam mats?
To cut them to fit them against a wall, start with a straight edge. Hold it firmly and slide a utility knife across the face of it, cutting into the material. Should it begin to fray, try switching to a sharper, new blade.
Can you use foam mats outside?
These will work well outdoors for an activity, but we recommend disassembling and storing them indoors afterward. If used outside exclusively, they may swell and curl. We do not recommend leaving them exposed to sunlight and weather conditions for extended periods.
Are foam tiles waterproof?
Yes. They consist of a waterproof design that’s also color safe, so there’s no worry of fading or transfer onto clothing, skin, or other objects that come into contact with them.
What are foam mats made of?
EVA, short for ethylene-vinyl acetate, offers a softness and flexibility that resembles rubber. It has a buoyancy and shock absorption capability as well.
What flooring can be installed over carpet?
Foam interlocking floor tiles work for simple installations over carpeting. However, for an area to be used for exercise, do not place them atop carpeting, as they can shift and slide. Instead, the best solution for home gyms on carpeting is PVC StayLock, which is specifically designed to provide relief for athletes doing aerobic activities. They guard against weights and equipment, yielding a stable gym floor foundation.
After installing, follow a few tips for use, as outlined below. Keeping an eye on how they are used and maintained will lengthen the usable lifespan.
General Cleaning: Sweep them with a broom or make use of a vacuum. Set the vacuum cleaner at its highest setting.
Washing: Our models outperform interlocking foam mats offered in this area. Because ours have good drainage, use a hose and nozzle to clean them with a spray of water. Just don't use a power water pressure head.
Mopping: Use a mop and warm water for more thorough cleanings. Do not use a bleach based product. Most general household floors cleaners will be safe to use.
Avoid Steam: Do not use steam cleaning, as this process may heat them up and cause them to expand.
Avoid Sharp Objects: Certain sharp items, such as a high heel on a shoe, can puncture them, so be careful about what kind of shoes are in use. This is why we do not rate these high quality interlocking foam tiles for floor to handle high traffic.
Avoid Heavy Objects: If placing a weighty item on them, such as a weight bench or machine, they will indent. We'd suggest placing thick rubber on the top, and then place the heavy object atop it.
Test Cleaners: Do test cleansers on the floors where any discoloration or damage that occurs will not be noticeable. Some strong cleansers will cause discoloration, and some vacuums also could damage them.

Do then mats include trim pieces with an order? Thanks you.
Since no borders are available can the edges be trimmed. Also I tried to order in black but it was not on the pulldown menu. Is black available?
What is the best glue to glue two pieces of foam mats together to make a thicker piece?
Will these mats hold up to weights and weight benches or would I need to put another mat of some sort down on top of it?
Are these waterproof? I want to use them for my dog, who sometimes has accidents in the house, and need to protect the flooring. Will the urine seep through and into the mat? And then into the floor? Thanks
Could this floor be out over carpet?
Can you tell me what type of paint I could use, that would be durable, if I wanted to customize?
