Dance Studio and Tap Dance Flooring
Rosco Adagio marley dance floor is our best selling dance studio flooring due to its durability, versatility and economical price. Of our Rosco dance floor possibilities, Adagio is the most versatile dance floor that we offers. The Adagio dance floor can be used for many styles of dance including tap, ballet, modern, jazz, Irish, Flamenco, lyrical, hip hop, drill team, ballroom and barefoot dancing.
Rosco Adagio dance floors are made of high quality vinyl, which makes them a non-absorbent, non-reflective, and non-skid surface that give tap and ballet dancers the controlled slip that they need to perform their best. This dance studio flooring is made using a proprietary manufacturing process that yields a wider and more durable flooring material that will not de-laminate. As the Rosco Adagio dance flooring is dimensionally stable, it is perfect for temporary, semi-permanent, or permanent installations.
Rosco Adagio dance flooring is simple and easy to install. The product can simply be rolled out on any hard, flat surface. While it can be installed with tape or glue, the installation does not require it. Most customers choose to install the dance flooring themselves as it is so easy - assuming they are able to lift the roll. Adagio flooring can even be installed directly over hardwood flooring.
If you are looking to install marley dance flooring over concrete, please contact our friendly customer service to discuss possible dance subflooring and dance underlayment options. For ordering gray-colored Rosco Adagio dance studio flooring or custom cut lengths, please contact one of our customer service reps, who would be more than happy to help.
This marley dancing flooring weighs 2.42 pounds per linear foot, or a total of 270 pounds per roll. If you order a custom cut length roll, it is non-returnable. Full bolt rolls that have been unrolled or installed will result in a 20% restocking fee upon returning.
Rosco Adagio dance studio flooring is durable, quality made, and a great value. Rosco stands behind its Adagio dance flooring product. This product comes with a 5-year limited warranty for the original purchaser. This warranty covers manufacturing defects in both material and workmanship. This Rosco dance floor has not been UV treated, so continuous direct sunlight may damage the product over time.
We stock this marley dance floor to ensure quick shipment.
Considerations for Tap Dancing: Tap shoes with aluminium taps leave behind black oxidation marks on vinyl flooring material. These black marks blend in fairly well on the black Rosco Adagio dance studio flooring, but are more noticeable on the gray marley dance floor. Because of this, Greatmats does not recommend gray Rosco Adagio dance studio flooring to be used with tap dancing. Tap shoes with steel taps do not leave behind black oxidation marks on vinyl flooring, but all tap shoes leave some marking on dance flooring. New black dance shoes leave the most marks on gray vinyl dance flooring. Jazz shoes can also leave behind similar marks, so Greatmats does not recommend gray vinyl dance flooring for use with tap or jazz shoes.
The first time you use your new floor you may notice shoe marks. Don't panic! This expected and is a sign that the floor is doing its job as scuffs are a result of friction between a shoe and the grip of the floor. When the floor is shiny and new, each scuff is very noticeable. After more use, the scuffs will start to blend into a patina on the floor – just as they do inside dance studios everywhere.
When installing, this product is not reversible, so make sure that the shiny side of this marley dance floor goes down. Rosco Adagio dance flooring needs to be installed over a hard, smooth surface. Even low pile carpet is too soft for marley dance flooring to be installed over it. If you are looking to install this product over mats, Greatmats offers a high density interlocking foam mat that is a great underlayment for Rosco Adagio dance studio flooring.
Many customers report being able to easily install Rosco Adagio flooring with only one other person. This allows customers to cut down on costs and not have to hire a professional to install their dance floor.
Lisa from North Olmsted, OH, said it took two people to roll out the marley, stretch, straighten it, and tape it into place.
With only herself and her husband to help, she was able to easily install her Rosco Adagio dance studio flooring, giving her studio a professional look.
If installed with vinyl tape, Rosco Adagio dance flooring can be moved. Glueing down the material leads to a permanent installation.
When storing Rosco Adagio dance flooring, it should never be stored on its side. This will cause the Rosco flooring rolls to flatten and will lead to rippling of the vinyl when the material is unrolled. The marley dance flooring should always be rolled tight over a straight tube of PVC pipe, taped closed, and stored upright on the roll's end.
If you're looking for a dance floor to travel with, Greatmats also offers Rosco Adagio Tour dance flooring to give you the same high quality dance surface both in the studio and on the road.
Each Rosco Adagio floor roll is 5.24 feet wide and 101.00 ft long. The total weight of a standard roll is 270 pounds, so multiple people will likely be required to carry a roll. Black Adagio dance flooring is also available in 10, 15, 20 and 25 foot roll lengths. Gray Adagio marley is only available in full rolls.
This marley dance floor is made in the EU in compliance with the strict consumer health and safety standards in Europe. This ensures that the Rosco Adagio vinyl flooring will be a product free from harmful chemicals. The product is not heat resistant, but is rated with the National Fire Protection Association Life Safety Class I Interior Floor Finish flammability rating.
We have always used Rosco Adagio floors for our dance studios and when we had to update one of our rooms we knew that we wanted to purchase this product again.
COLLEGE STATION, TX
Doing a lot of research on flooring, I quickly decided that the Adagio flooring would suit our needs best just because its multipurpose. It can go tap, jazz, lyrical, all of it. We went ahead and installed that. It went really smoothly. This floor has been my favorite floor out of all of the floors I’ve ever danced on.
Rice Lake, WI
I knew Greatmats would provide the quality product we needed to ensure both safety and aesthetic.
Great Product! Next time I would order it to fit my studio space though, so I don't have to cut it myself and carry the huge and heavy roll back and forth. The shipping was a little sketchy, as it came on a torn up box and a broken pallet but I know that they outsourced to a carrier to deliver it.
South Jordan, UT
Greatmats was so helpful. I got the product that I wanted and the service that I wanted. The ballet barres and the floor just brought a new look to our facility.''
SAINT CLOUD, MN
I was looking for a floor that was really durable and would stand up to an abrasive type of activity. It was very easy to install. It just laid down, and we got it installed very quickly. We opened our studio after two weeks of prepping the space, and it has really held up.
'This floor is wonderful, where we can do our movements and not have fear of falling.
TAYLORS FALLS, MN
We love our flooring from Greatmats! It was easy to install and gives our dancers a nice cushioned floor to dance on.
Just wanted to share a picture of our new studio! This is one of the rooms with the Marley flooring. Thanks for all your help and advice! :)
This product is excellent and easy to work with. Laying the floor and taping the seams was much easier than we imagined. We are very pleased.
Our new Marley floor is ready to be danced on!!! So excited to start the new season in September!! Thank you Greatmats.com!!! Without your summer sale and all the donations from our friends and family, we could have never afforded to do this!!
North Olmsted, OH
My new black marley floors look great and very professional. It took two people to roll out the marley, stretch and straighten it and tape it into place which is great since I didn't want to hire a professional to do it if it could be done by my husband and myself. It also sounds great with tap shoes and transitions nicely to ballet and jazz shoes without being too slippery.
It is working great! It went down really well and we've danced on it for a few days now! I attached a picture :) Thanks for all your help!
Thank you GREATMATS from The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati!!! Our new floor looks and feels GREAT!!!! Sincerely, Jay Goodlett Associate Artistic Director The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati
Good floor.Could be more softer.
This is the best flooring for our dance studio! Just a heads up that it can take more than 48 hours to lay flat after install (as it did for us), so give it time to rest before taping.
The floor is really nice and heavy duty! We will purchase from you again!
Great customer service, pricing and delivery. Thank you!

Many positive comments from professional dancers....thanks
Merritt Island, FL
Very very versatile floor! This is our second studio room and we love it
If this Marley is not reversible how do we know which side to lay down?
Can this be installed over carpet? It is a flat loop-style
Can I put it on top of interlocking foam tiles?
if i lay this down over cement or tile will it still sound good with the tap shoes? and can i use the double sided tape underneath instead of taping it on top?
Is the Flooring heat resistant
I have a concrete floor in my basement at present. We are planning to lay a laminate that has underlay attached. Could I put this flooring over a portion of the room once the laminate is laid as a small ballet/jazz area for my daughter? I am wondering if the laminate with underlay and the Adagio on top would be enough to protect her from shin splints.
is this floor portable? My studio may move?
