PVC slate floor tile, Plastic slate floor tiles, Faux slate flooring
If seeking to protect areas of the home’s floor and decor from mud, water, and other foreign objects that the kids or dogs drag into the house, our plastic floor tiles are an ideal selection. Our HiddenLock Faux Slate Tile Flooring product will keep the basement and entryway looking great, as it's easily cleaned and can stand up to rough treatment.
Durable Faux Slate Tile Flooring
Our plastic floor tiles for kitchen will be successfully standing up spills and other issues. This model is the toughest and thickest of its kind on the market. This faux slate tile flooring measures 1/4 inch in thickness, which stands up to constant use perfectly, but still not being too heavy to handle.
Cleaning the slate floor tile is a simple process. Use a common floors cleaner mixed with hot water. Apply the solution with a damp mop and allow it to air dry. It will not absorb liquid, which makes cleaning a piece of cake.
No adhesive is required for the layout of the plastic tiles. The interlocked setup holds them together tightly, so there’s no worry about raised seams causing a potential tripping hazard. And because adhesives are not in use, just disassemble them and return to the original floorings whenever the use case dictates.
Each measures 12 by 12 inches, giving it 1 square foot of coverage. This makes it easy to calculate the number required.
There’s no need for perfectly level subflooring before installing them. They will bend a little bit to match the contours of the subfloor.
Whatever minor undulations or imperfections are in the subfloors, it will conform to them. Make sure there is not a significant level change at a seam, however, as this could cause them to separate if not glued.
Outdoor Interlocking Plastic Floor Tiles
Ours have tabs on two sides and slots on the opposite undersides that accommodate the tab.
To install it, just lay the square piece so the two edges with the tabs lay in the direction to add more pieces. Place the area with the slot aligned with the tab on the adjacent piece and press on the seam between them. Installers can feel them pop into place as they’re lined up correctly.
To cut them to fit in a tight to the wall installed design, use a utility knife and a straight edge. Using a series of shallow scores to cut completely through them is the best plan. Cut these easily to fit around obstacles, even a support post. It even works as a wall tile, providing extra protection for walls in spots where pets or kids could damage them.
Although gluing them is not necessary with the tab and slot models, for permanent installations, use adhesive on them. Here are some tips for deciding whether to glue the modular flooring.
Hefty Items: If placing or moving heavy objects across it on a regular basis, gluing it down ensures there’s no slipping around or pulling apart.
Permanency: If planning to leave them permanently over the subfloor, use adhesives successfully. Garage floor tiles work well with glued installations, where vehicles will be parked or when turning the tires sharply is occurring commonly.
Light Duty: If using them in areas that will have average or below average foot traffic, an interlock installation should be providing the stability required without incorporating adhesive into the equation.
Disassembly: If planning to disassemble them at some point and go back to the original subfloors, avoid adding adhesives. The interlocked design will be tight enough alone.
Great Looking Plastic Floor Tiles
Ours will improve the feel of any room, helping create new use cases, including as a home gym or a childrens playroom. Here are common places for finding these in use.
Basements: This one resists liquids, so it’s a smart option in basements where dampness can occasionally be a problem. Should another model soak up moisture, it could end up with bacteria and mold growth, which is why ours is such a good option. However, where there’s a significant dampness problem in a cellar, consider our floating raised basement floor tiles with built in vapor barrier, which will introduce airflow beneath, allowing the moisture to drain or evaporate. For a great look in finished basements, these will give the appearance of expensive blue slate tile without the difficult installation.
Entryway: Rather than using slate tile floors in mudrooms, consider our modular tiles. They are tough enough to stand up to anything that kids or pets will drag indoors. Cleaning takes very little time, so they work well in entryways.
Laundry Rooms: Because our slate tiles will not absorb water, consider laying this out in a laundry room. If setting down dirty or wet laundry, or should the washing machine suffer a leak, it will resist moisture. Place hefty appliances on top of it, perhaps both a washer and dryer, with no worries about causing any damage to it.
Workshop: For something that will stand up to woodworking, while also continuing to look nice, these are a smart idea. These can handle hefty furniture or tools being placed on them, as well as surviving dropped chunks of wood, withstanding the possibility of damages. It has no texture in the surface, so sweeping up any sawdust or other materials generated during woodworking goes quickly, keeping the area looking amazing.
Commercial Entrances: For a warehouse that welcomes customers and where business will be conducted, use these successfully, as they’re made for customer facing areas of the warehouse or business. They will be stylish, allowing for replacement of boring cement in the warehouse and dressing up the decor for visitors.
Events: This works extremely well for events, including a trade show where employees will be standing for hours consecutively and need anti fatigue properties. The tiling is easy to assemble and disassemble as needed, so bring it along as part of the materials for trade shows. Each only weighs 1.2 pounds, which allows a single person to perform the installation and to carry several pieces at once.
We offer it in three earthy types of colors of brown, tan, and gray. Create a layout with a single color through the room. Or order more than one color and develop patterns, such as a checkerboard design. No matter what colors are in use, all of them are designed to fit together, featuring the same interlocking floor tiles pattern.
If seeking a type of faux slate tile flooring to install in an area that will be wet frequently or that will be standing up to heavy vehicle traffic, such as a garage, we also offer coin top and diamond top floorings that will provide a bit of traction because of the textured surfaces. We even offer faux slate tile roof models in our extensive catalog.

FAQ Plastic Floor Tiles Q&A
What is plastic flooring?
It is one of the toughest materials available for use, and these carry a 5-year limited manufacturer's warranty. Ours uses an interlocked style that ensures no loss of coverage capacity and that eliminates having to see obvious seams.
What are PVC tiles?
These are Made in the USA products. Attractive and durable, they are excellent for a variety of applications, including entryways, mudrooms, family rooms, event floors, commercial building entryways, and as basement flooring for sale. They are manufactured from quality plastics that yield an excellent color consistency. They carry a material density rating of Shore A 75-85 with an extremely tough surface, making these a smart selection of plastic floor tiles for bathroom installs.
What are the most durable tiled floorings?
Porcelain is widely considered the toughest type of tile that looks like stacked stone. It almost resembles a cobblestone floor tile, which makes it ideal for high traffic locales that include kitchens and bathrooms, but it is pricey and not easy to install. Rubber flooring tiles yield a high level of durability too, but they’re not the most beautiful selection. That’s where our plastic floor tiles can be better selections. This faux slate outdoor tile delivers impressive benefits. These simplify installing, deliver a beautiful finish like natural stone, and have the toughness to equal a slate flooring option, all while being offered at a desirable price point.
Which is better, PVC or vinyl flooring?
The two terms are used to describe the same basic material, as they are considered interchangeable. Vinyls often appear as plastic flooring rolls or as peel and stick models, while PVCs typically have a puzzle style edge or hidden tabs and loops for interlocking with little effort. Think about choosing the desired format to make the layout as simple as possible when picking this style of faux slate tile flooring.
How much does PVC tiling cost?
When considering the prices of slate floor tiles for sale, our interlock styles will provide an extremely reasonable price. Expect to pay $3 to $7 per sq. ft. if ordering from Greatmats. We only source our plastic floor tiles from the most trusted manufacturers and distributors, giving customers an excellent quality. This product outperforms plastic floor tiles and natural slate look porcelain tile other companies sell in terms of costs and longevity. Our slate colored tile is made for DIY jobs, which saves money on the installing process as well.
Excellent product, durable quality, quick and easy to install. Transformed our concrete basement floor into a usable, functional area. Used the green tiles to finish the basement Plant Room where we grow lettuce, kale and spinach year-round. Tiles are easy to clean even with dirt and water spills. Outstanding friendly customer service, all my questions answered.
Perfect product for covering up the basement concrete floor, turning an unused storage area into a much more habitable place. Tiles just as described, shipped quickly. Easy to install, quickly transformed the area.
Amazing product. Easy to install. I liked the lock in design. 600 square ft done in 2 days
Staten Island, NY
Great product for this laundry closet. My only complaint is that there isn't a transition for purchase through Greatmats
Having no clue as to what type of tile I needed for the job, Greatmats listened to what I was planning to do and advised me on what my best options were. Once the choice was made, I received a quote and an ETA. Although the tiles are snap and lay, Beth had the foresight to tell me how much space from the wall to leave. Thoughtful advice that I greatly appreciated since I might have come to that conclusion after the fact. The tiles have now arrived and are awaiting installation. Thank you for putting the customer first.
Worked great and looks really good. It was easy to install and could be cut with a box cutter. The cutting was difficult and I would recommend getting a saw next time, but it could be done, just took a lot of upper body strength and patience.
Website easy to navigate, ordering a snap, shipped quickly, quality product.
The new order of light gray tiles were slightly different in color then the previous order.
Crappy customer service! I waited a week to get rubber tiles that dont match. No quality control on orders when theyre shipped out!! Just throw into a box without a care in the world! When I called them on the phone they acted like they didnt make the mistake and that they didnt even care about my order. I ordered tan and got 24 peach colored ones. 6 tan. They only have 4 colors in this product how hard is it to get an order right? And now they only have three that show up on the website. I will not be doing business with them ever again!! Yeah David youre right and Im wrong ! President that wants the customer to email him and then wont answer any of your questions until they send a sample to you. How is that going to ensure they get it right the next time?? If your fine with crappy customer service then this is the place for you! Wait a month and then maybe they will get it right! Ill take this review down when you refund my money period!

Very easy to work with. Looks great in our basement bathroom. Cleans up nicely from foot traffic from outside.
Rather than send us a mixed batch of tiles - we had a fairly large order- they contacted us to ask us to,wait a few days so they could run enough tiles so we could have consistent color. Very great full for that.
They even ran a special run so we,would have consistent color, throughout our order.
excellent product; fast delivery. good prices and free shipping .what more can you ask for.
Ordered tile for a basement bathroom. It arrived in good shape and on time. Took 10 minutes to install and looks great.
I bought a home that had beige carpet right in front of the entry way door. I pulled it out and put a subfloor and layed the rubber tiles down. Super easy and project was not perfectly square but tiles were easy to cut with utility knife to make due. I am a do-it-yourselfer and thoroughly enjoyed the project. I settled for the beige because they were out of the gray. The beige is a little too peachy for me when up against my beige carpet going down the hall but it is ok because it looks nice and clean and neat.
I ordered twice from greatmats. The product and shipping prices were reasonable. The products were as they were described. Faster shipping than I expected
I needed flooring for a trade show, but it was out of stock when I tried to place my order. The customer service representative was extremely helpful, checked the production schedule and made sure that we would be able to get our floor in time. It looks great!
My order was shipped as described, in the proper quantity, and in perfect condition. I Will have no problem with recommending Great Mats to anyone!
Can this product be removed and reinstalled in the event that you need access to the subfloor?
How do you cut the tile?
Does the floor have to be exactly level?
is this product goo to use on surgical room floors
How do these tiles react to pet urine and poop?
In the photos it appears that the tiles have some straight edges which would make it so I don't need to buy a border. Am I correct? I cannot find this info anywhere online so far. Thank you.
Looking for a tile for my semi-finished basement. We have had one ''flooding'' (about an inch of water) since we bought the house, but we got a new sump pump and have hopefully rectified the water situation. Would this tile withstand occasional water?
